WHO AM I?
Hi! Im Leo, I love to create and express myself with the camera, light
and composition. If you have an idea I would love to find ways to make
them come true.
WHY FILM?
I choose this profession because its a way to know new things
everyday while approaching every project with new tools and ultimately
practice what I love about my craft, to share my point of view to others.
I'm 25 years old, I was born in Paysandu, a small city in Uruguay. I have
always loved cinema and still photography. In 2016 I decided to move
to Montevideo the capitol of Uruguay to study photography at the
Aquelarre School.
Later in 2017 I went to a cinematography school (ECU) to learn more
about film. There I started my journey through the filmmaking world.
Whilst studying I worked as a social photographer (weddings,
birthdays, partys, products), until 2019, when I was invited to work for
a filmmaking agency call Pradera. With them I learnt all about
commercials and videoclips, being able to work in many national and
international commercials.
In 2020 I finished my study's in the cinematography school and was
offered the opportunity to work with a well know gaffer in Montevideo. I
joined the lighting crew and started to work in many features films and
TV series for different streaming platforms (Amazon Prime, Netflix,
HBO Max and STAR+). With that crew I saw the world of big budget
films and fell in love. In the meantime, with my pursuit to create videos,
I open with a partner my own content creation company called CAUDAL.
We focus on social media content for different brands and advertising
agencies.
Today, in 2023, after almost 7 years in the business, after being part of
all sort of projects of different budgets and medias, I decided to travel
to Australia with the objective of keep learning more about my craft.
